EDI CON Speaker Center

Welcome to the EDI CON Speaker Center - We are honored that you will be speaking at our 2018 event. The Conference will be held March 20-22, 2017 at the China National Convention Center.

As a presenter at EDI CON 2018, it is your responsibility to electronically submit a presentation title, abstract, paper, bio(s) and speaker photo (optional) for use in the Conference Guide, which will be distributed to conference delegates. The papers and presentations (in PDF form) will be included into the proceedings distributed (by memory stick) to delegates at the conference. Please do not send hardcopies of any materials.

Important Deadlines

Presentation Slides: (required for sessions, workshops, and short courses; optional for panels):

  1. Submit completed slides in PDF format using the portal.
  2. Use the EDI CON China 2018 speaker template. You may add your corporate logo to the bottom of the template slides.

Technical Paper (optional):

  1. Submit completed paper in PDF format using the portal
  2. Standard technical paper formats are fine. No required template.

Presentation Tips

  • Speak slowly, clearly and loud enough for everyone to hear
  • Show enthusiasm and don't speak in a monotone voice
  • Talk to the audience and not your slides (do not turn you back)
  • Practice and rehearse your presentation – don't read from your slides
  • Keep slides clean and free of too much text
  • Present one idea per slide
  • Only use colors that can be easily viewed
  • Don't present a product pitch

Audio Visual

Each of the conference session rooms will be equipped with a computer, projection screen and microphone. The PowerPoint files will be loaded on each computer but you must also bring your PowerPoint file on a flash drive as a backup in case your file is missing.

Registration

As a speaker, you are entitled to a complimentary conference pass. We ask that you complete the quick registration process online using a special pass code that you have received via email. New and replacement speaker codes will be issued upon request, please contact Alyssa Connell. Speakers are requested to check in on-site at the speaker registration area (located by main entrance) at least 2 hours prior to their scheduled time slot. Early morning speakers should plan to register the day before if possible.

Access to the Speaker Ready Room

The Speaker Ready Room will be available for your use during the week of the conference. You will have space to prepare for your sessions, relax and network.
